The base energy rate changes for each defined season below.  You will notice that the Environmental aspect is now rolled into the base rate and will no longer be shown separately.  There is a charge (or credit) for hydro which may vary from year to year.

  • Summer: June, July, August, September
  • Transition: April, May, October, November
  • Winter: December, January, February, March

What do the different parts of the "Total" mean?
Base: This remains the same per season every year that there is no cost increase or decrease imposed by MUS.
Adjust:  This can vary per season each year if TVA imposes a cost increase or decrease to MUS.  Strictly a pass through cost by MUS.
Hydro:  This is a TVA imposed cost that can increase or decrease each year.  .

There is one last remaining cost added to each kWh sold that is not detailed in the chart above.  It is the fuel cost adjustment or FCA.  The fuel cost adjustment does changes monthly as detailed on the main Power Rates page.
