MUS closed a successful fiscal year on June 30, 2012. All three divisions – power, water and telecom – had positive years financially. FiberNet continues to expand and has over 5400 customers, which is 43% of all homes passed. We are one of the select cities nationwide that can provide Gigabit speeds at any place on the network. Gigabit means 1000 Megabits, and this is over 667 times faster than traditional T1 lines from the phone company. Why it that possible? Because our network is light passing over fiber optic glass, so signals travel at the speed of light. No other competitor can do this. We continue to upgrade our systems to improve our level of service to you. We are actively installing advanced metering infrastructure to help analyze our system usages to help find ways to lower the cost of operations. Over the next year we hope to offer customers newer, more innovative ways to view their electric usage so you can make better decisions that can save you money.
Please remember we offer for your convenience payment options that include pay online, pay by phone, bank draft and levelized billing. The last option allows your bills to be averaged over the most recent 12 months and help avoid summer or winter spikes.
